Just add your choice of vegetables, seafood or chicken breasts and you’re minutes away from serving a satisfying steamed meal that the whole family will enjoy. With the Digital Food Steamer in your kitchen, you can take advantage of the bounty of healthy, in-season produce at your local farmer’s market or grocery store. The Digital Food Steamer lets you prepare a whole meal in one, easy-to-use appliance. You can steam seafood or chicken breasts in the bottom bowl and vegetables in the top. Since food cooks faster in the bottom bowl, always place food with longer steaming times on first, closer to the base. Another option for cooking different types of food is to place one bowl (filled with food with longer steaming times) onto the base and steam first; then later add the second bowl filled with food that has shorter steaming times. For example, green beans and squash have shorter cooking times; foods with longer cooking times include red potatoes, sliced carrots, chicken breasts and fish steaks. The rice bowl is great for steaming rice and small amounts of food inside the steaming bowl. To steam rice, place rice and water into the rice bowl. A good rule of thumb for cooking rice is two parts water to one part rice. Fill the water reservoir to the MAX line, place the rice bowl inside the lower steaming bowl and top with the lid. Steam white rice for 20 to 25 minutes or brown rice for 42 to 45 minutes.

The next time you have a workout, sports activity or meeting that interferes with your family’s mealtime, let the Digital Food Steamer take over. To set DELAY START, fill the water reservoir to the MAX line and place food into one or two steaming bowls. Press the up/down arrows to set your delay time. When your delay time expires, food will steam for your selected cooking time, then switch to warm for up to one hour. Do not use DELAY START for raw fish, seafood, meat or poultry.

If the water level in the steamer becomes too low, the Digital Food Steamer will switch OFF and flash “- -. “ Fill the unit with water to the MAX line, then push the ON/OFF button to restart the steamer. Never operate the steamer without water in the reservoir or use a liquid other than water for cooking purposes, as this may damage the unit.

Avoid blocking too many steaming holes by overcrowding the steaming bowls with food; this doesn’t leave enough room for adequate steam flow and could result in food that is not uniformly steamed. The steaming bowls, drip tray and removable collar are dishwasher safe. Wash the lid and the removable divider in warm, soapy water. Do not immerse the base in water or other liquid. Instead, allow it to cool and wipe the inside of the base with a damp cloth.

Best tool for weight loss, period! I bought this after a fellow dorm student showed me how to use his steamer of another brand. I chose this one because of the design and the removable top shelf that allows you to cook larger items. I can get 2 chicken breast (boneless skinless) chicken breast for $3.00, a bag of baby carrots for $1.25 and a small bag of small red potatoes for $1.50.I put the chicken in a bag or container and pour in my spices (I use Mrs. Dash because it’s salt free and so flavorful) and mix it up until the chicken is coated. I let the chicken sit sometimes to soak up the spices better (usually overnight) but spicing before steaming is still great. I will put one breast in the middle of the bottom tier, surround it with carrots. I put the other breast on the top tier, surround it with red potatoes cut into quarters (leaving them whole works, but i like them cut to add seasoning) and in 25 minutes me and another person are having an awesome healthy meal.Steaming is more effective…

My Wife And I Are Completely Happy With This Steamer This has by far been one of the best editions to our kitchen. My wife and I researched several of the different types of steamers on the market and decided on this one because other steamers seemed to have a problem with algae build up due to hard to reach water trays in the bottom. None of that exists with this steamer. In fact, the easy clean up is one of our favorite features. The other favorite feature is the delayed start time. We have used it several times when the kids had a sports game, and set the steamer to come on two hours later so that the food would be ready and hot when we got home. I really don’t have anything negative, except that it doesn’t come with any type of ideas for meals or recipes. One product that really has taken our steaming to another level is . This steamer is for anyone who wants to eat…

Really happy with this I went shopping for a microwave steamer and was astonished at how much they cost. I’d had a stovetop steamer in the past but it seemed like too much hassle to drag out, use, clean and put up that I just didn’t use it. I stumbled across this thing for less than many microwave steamers with less capacity, read the reviews and bought it. It is right up there with a microwave and a food processor as one of the very best food prep items I’ve ever owned. Seriously. Jump on the web and look for steam recipes and you’ll find a whole world of extremely easy meals you can put together. I’ve never been any good at preparing fish or lobster tails, but those days are over. I’ve discovered all kinds of tweaks on steamed meatballs using ground turkey, pork or chicken (or combining them). Add ginger and sesame oil and you have an Asian take, add rosemary and oregano and garlic and you have more of an Italian take. Get premade turkey meatballs and add nothing to them, just grab a little…
